VMU seminar: "Digital Storytelling as an innovative study method. Examples of integrating gender dimension into studies"

Date and time: 2022 April 29th, 14:00-16:00

Location: MS Teams

SPEAR's Lithuanian partner Vytauto Didziojo Universitetas is organising an online workshop on the application of digital storytelling innovative method in the study process.

In the process of studying, digital storytelling is used for creating short (2-5 min) personal stories, incorporating image, sound and text. By using this method, students develop their visual literacy and other 21st century competencies (e.g., media competence), and enhance their understanding and skills in citizenship, critical thinking, and creativity. The leaders of this training will present various modes and principles of digital storytelling, explain the process and didactical tools, and give examples of practical applications of this method, relying on their own experience of working with digital storytelling.

This method will be presented as a tool for integrating the gender dimension into studies. The training will be conducted by the team of the SPEAR project, Prof. Dr. Natalija Mažeikienė and Lecturer and Equal Opportunities Coordinator Laura Lapinskė, and will aim at promoting gender equality and facilitating the implementation of the Gender Equality Plan at Vytautas Magnus University.

This training is designed for lecturers who wish to apply innovative study methods in their lectures; pedagogy specialists who are interested in contemporary tools for didactics and teaching; lecturers, PhD students and educational experts who are interested in integrating a gender dimension into the study process. The training will be held in Lithuanian.
